The Little Brown Spider 3D Figure (Sculpt 2)

Going down the 3D printing road. Again.

Seems like ages ago, but when I was putting together the promotional plan for Stone Hollow Press and the first two books of the Little Brown Spider series, I thought it would be cool to have a 3D printed version of the able arachnid. I really wanted to do toys, but it wasn't the right time. So, 3D printed figures it was. That was over 3 years ago (I have an entire post about that experience here).

All New! All 3D! No Glasses Needed!

I recently jumped back into the 3D printing waters. Seemed like things were lining up for an actual toy, but, again, it wasn't the right time. Someday, but not today. Long story short, I ended up with a new 3D version of the Little Brown Spider.

So that begs the question, which version do you like more? Do you like version 1.0, or will it be version 2.0? Come on! Vote! We really want to know!

Which 3D figure do you like more?

  • 0%Version 1.0

  • 0%Version 2.0

The two different LBS versions:

A 3D CAD file of the children's character Little Brown Spider
Version 1.0 of the Little Brown Spider Figurine
A 3D CAD file of the children's character Little Brown Spider
Version 2.0 of the Little Brown Spider Figurine

Next Steps

Now, I know what some of you are thinking: "Hey, I thought this guy was brown? You know, like how it says so in his name. This guy's all gray!" Yes, yes, he's all gray in the CAD file. He'll also be an all-sandstone color when printed. He needs to be painted. And painting these things can be a nightmare (again, see this post). For now, picture him all dressed up in his usual colors. And then vote.

Book Three Coming Soon!

Well, that's it for this week's musings as the day's tick down to the release of the next Little Brown Spider book, "A Mouse in the House."

Happy start to autumn! (The absolute best time of the year according to every spider, ever).
