An Unexpected Unboxing
Mistakes happen. Mistakes will always happen. I get that. Still, it was a little, um, surprising to flip through one my books and see a page that didn't belong. It happened on the first page of the book The Little Brown Spider in Which Way to Go? As I was flipping through my first batch of 5 paperbacks, I was greeted with the following, in all caps and a huge font:
"TEMPTATION DOES NOT COME FROM GOD BUT COMES FROM OUR OWN SINFUL DESIRES."
Whoa.
Now there's nothing wrong with a religious children's book. It's probably a fine book. But the Little Brown Spider stays out of all religious discussions and proclamations. It's just not his style!
I fired off a support ticket to the printer about the issue. They've been nothing but supportive and responsive throughout the whole printing and distribution process. I'm sure this will be resolved quickly. (To be clear, the misprint only occurred in a single copy.)
This was a good lesson learned: Flip through every book you order before handing out or selling. Better you get the surprise than your readers!

Good lesson. Thank you! And it does appear that Michael is looking at the odd scene on the opposite page. It's an unintended juxtaposition with a humorous outcome! 😊
